The case file

What we built for Edison Motors.

Edison Motors came to us with a problem most companies would envy: an audience growing faster than its digital infrastructure could handle. With a YouTube following in the hundreds of thousands and a movement-like community behind its diesel-electric hybrid trucks, every product announcement and merchandise drop sent a wall of traffic toward the website.

We rebuilt the site on Astro with a WooCommerce backend, separating the heavier commerce system from the marketing pages people browse most often. Product pages, EV conversion-kit information, company updates, and merchandise were reorganized around the questions customers, fleet operators, and enthusiasts actually ask.

The result is a fast storefront that can absorb sudden attention without making the company look or feel like a hobby project. It presents Edison as the credible Canadian clean-tech manufacturer behind Canada's first production hybrid-electric truck, while giving the team room to expand its catalog and dealer programs.

The brief

The problem, and how we solved it.

Challenge

Edison needed a site that could remain fast during large traffic spikes caused by videos, product announcements, and merchandise launches. It also had to explain unfamiliar hybrid-truck technology clearly while supporting a growing WooCommerce catalog.

Solution

We used Astro for fast, largely static marketing pages and kept WooCommerce focused on products, inventory, and checkout. Clear navigation separates trucks, EV conversion kits, merchandise, and company information, while edge delivery helps the public-facing experience stay responsive under load.

Problems solved

What was in the way.

Three concrete problems on the old experience, and the fixes we shipped.

  1. Large audience surges could overwhelm a conventional commerce-first website.

The architecture separates fast marketing content from heavier WooCommerce operations and distributes public pages through a global edge network.

  2. Truck technology, conversion kits, and merchandise competed for attention in one growing catalog.

Distinct content paths help fleet buyers, conversion customers, and fans reach the right information without sorting through unrelated products.

  3. The digital experience did not fully reflect the seriousness of Edison's engineering and manufacturing work.

A confident industrial presentation, focused product storytelling, and clearer technical hierarchy position the company as a credible clean-tech manufacturer.
