The case file

What we built for Love Letter Wedding Films.

Love Letter Wedding Films is a boutique studio led by husband-and-wife team Marcel and Ruth. They create cinematic wedding films for couples in Ottawa, Gatineau, and destination locations, with bilingual service available for English and French celebrations.

Wedding-film clients choose through emotion, trust, and creative fit. The website needed to let the work speak while giving couples enough practical information about the filmmakers, their approach, and the experience of having a wedding captured on film.

We created a WordPress and Tailwind CSS site that balances cinematic media with a personal studio story. Portfolio films, bilingual market signals, and gentle enquiry paths now form a cohesive experience for couples planning locally or from a distance.

The brief

The problem, and how we solved it.

Challenge

Video-rich portfolios can become slow, distracting, or difficult to browse on mobile. The studio also needed to communicate a personal, boutique approach across two languages and several geographic markets.

Solution

We placed selected films at the centre of the experience while controlling how media loads and appears across devices. Personal storytelling, bilingual signals, and location-aware content help couples understand both the creative work and the people behind it.

Problems solved

What was in the way.

Three concrete problems on the old experience, and the fixes we shipped.

  1. A large collection of embedded films could overwhelm the page and hurt performance.

Curated portfolio placement and controlled media loading preserve the cinematic experience without loading everything at once.

  2. Couples needed more than a highlight reel to judge personal fit.

Studio storytelling introduces Marcel and Ruth, their boutique approach, and the experience they create around a wedding day.

  3. Bilingual Ottawa and Gatineau audiences needed clear signals of service availability.

English and French service cues are integrated with regional and destination-wedding content.
